STATE SQUARES

The pattern that I am posting here is owned and copywrited by a friend of mine named Pam Fisher. She has given me permission to put her pattern of my website. Please do not post this anywhere else. This is the square that Pam made for me. Any other squares on this page are copyrighted by me. Thank you for visiting and hope yall come back again.

OHIO SQUARE

Materials

Small amounts of blue, pink and cream or any colors of your choice.

F hook

NOTE: To change colors work last loop of sc with new color. Drop other color in back of work.

Row 1: With pink ch 24, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (23) This is right side of work.

Down below is the sequins on how to work your rows. The whole square is done in sc. Ch1, turn at the end of each row. Make sure to drop the colors on wrong side of work. If no one understands these instructions please let me know and I will do it differently.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn at the end of each row. Work 9 pink sc, 3 blue sc, 11 pink sc.

Row 3: 9 pink sc, 2 blue sc, 3 cream sc, 2 blue, 7 pink sc

Row 4: 6 pink, 1 blue, 7 cream, 2 blue, 7 pink

Row 5: 5 pink, 2 blue, 9 cream, 2 blue, 5 pink

Row 6: 6 pink, 1 blue, 7 cream, 2 blue, 7 pink

Row 7: 2 pink, 16 cream, 2 blue, 3 pink

Row 8: 2 pink, 1 blue, 18 cream, 2 pink

Row 9: 2 pink, 18 cream, 1 blue, 2 pink

Row 10: 2 pink, 1 blue, 18 cream, 2 pink

Row 11: 2 pink, 18 cream, 1 blue, 2 pink

Row 12: 2 pink, 1 blue, 18 cream, 2 pink

Row 13: 2 pink, 18 cream, 1 blue, 2 pink. Fasten off blue

Row 14: 3 pink, 18 cream, 2 pink.

Row 15-17: 2 pink, 19 cream, 2 pink

Row 18: 2 pink, 6 cream, 2 blue, 11 cream, 2 pink

Row 19: 2 pink, 8 cream, 7 blue, 4 cream, 2 pink

Row 20: 2 pink, 4 cream, 7 blue, 10 pink

Row 21: 10 pink, 7 blue, 4 cream, 2 pink

Row 22-23: With pink, sc across, ch 1, turn. Do not fasten off.

EDGING

Sc around square with sc ch 2, sc in each corner. (92 sc, 4 ch-2)

I changed the instructions a little. Just wanted to make the state a little bigger on the square. All I did was have more white for the state and less red rows on the square so the picture will not look exactly like the square you will be making.

Materials

Small amounts of 4-ply yarn....3 colors of your choice

Yarn Needle

With red, ch 24

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in 1st 4 sts, dropping red and attachng white at the end of last st, sc in next 15 sts, drop white, pick up red in last st made, sc in last 4 sts.

Row 4: Sc in next 4 sts, drop red and pick up white, sc in next 15 sts, drop white pick up red, sc in last 4 sts, ch 1, turn,

Rows 5-14 Repeat row 4.

Row 15: Sc in 1st 4 sts, drop red, pick up white yarn, sc in next 7 sts, drop white andpick up red, sc in remaining sts.

Rows 16-21: Repeat row 15.

Rows 22-23: Repeat row 2. Do not fasten off. Sc around the square with 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Take some blue yarn and embroidery UT on the center of the state.

DIRECTION

With red, ch 24.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn.

Rows 3&4: Repeat row 2.

Row 5: Sc in 1st 4 sts drop red, attach white in last st made, sc in next 15 sts, drop white pick up red, sc in last 4 sts.

Row 6: Sc in 1st 4 sts, drop red, pick up white, sc in next 15 sts, drop white, pick up red, sc in last 4 sts, ch 1, turn.

Rows 7-19: Repeat row 6.

Rows 20-23: Repeat row 2. Do not fasten off. Sc around square with 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Take some blue yarn and embrodery WY in the center of square.

Row 2: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn.

Rows 3&4: Repeat row 2.

Row 5: Sc in 1st 4 sts, drop red, attach white, sc in next 15 sts, dropping white and drawing up red yard in the last st, sc in last 4 sts, ch 1, turn.

Row 6: Sc in next 4 sts, drop red, draw up white in last st, sc in next 15 sts, drop white and pick up red in last st, sc in last 4 sts, ch 1, turn.

Row 7-19: Repeat row 6.

Row 20-23: Repeat row 2. Do not fasten off. Sc around the square with 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off. weave in ends. Take blue yarn and embroidery CO in the center of the square.
