MATERIALS

Small amount of sport weight yarn

1-3oz plastic cup

1 strip-5 ½” piece of plastic canvas

Glue gun

Yarn needle

F hook

FINISHED SIZE: 4 ½” tall

NOTE: Do not join rounds unless otherwise stated. Mark 1st st of each round when starting a new one.

SMALL BASKET

BOTTOM

Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around, (12)

Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around, (18).

Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around, (24). Fasten off.

TOP

Rnd 1: Working this rnd in back loops of rnd 4 only, sc in each lp around. (24)

Rnd 2: Sc in each st around.

Rnds 3-14: Sc in each st around, join with sl st in next st.

Rnd 15: Ch 1, 3 sc in same sp as joining, 3 sc in each st around. Join as before. Fasten off.

BOTTOM TRIM

Rnd 1: Working in front loops of rnd 4 of bottom, join with sl st in any back loop, ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, sc in next st, (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) around until you get to the last loop, sc in last loop, join as before. (37 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same sp, sk next st, 5 dc in next st, sk next st (5 dc in next st, sk next st) around, join with sl st in 1st sc. (9 shells made)

Place cup inside basket.

PLASTIC CANVAS HANDLE

5 ½” which is about 38 holes straight up and just the one hole across.

HANDLE

With the piece of plastic canvas, tie yarn in one hole on the end, now working around plastic canvas, sc across until plastic canvas is covered. When getting started you might have to hold the first few sts on until you get going. Fasten off. Hide ends. With glue gun, glue hand to inside of basket behind plastic cup and evenly spaced.

SMALLER BASKET

MATERIALS

Small amount of sport weight yarn

5 ½” piece of plastic canvas

1 ¼” in diameter round piece of plastic canvas

Glue gun

Yarn needle

F hook

FINISHED SIZE: 3 ½” to top of handle

BOTTOM (Make 2)

Rnds 1-4: Repeat rnds 1-4 of small basket, except, do not fasten off making the second bottom piece.

Rnd 5: Holding the wrong sides together and round piece of plastic canvas in between and working through both thicknesses, sc in each st around, join in back loop of next st.

TOP

Rnd 6: Sc in each st around (24).

Rnds 7-13: Sc in each st around, Join with sl st in next 1st sc.

Rnd 14: 3 sc in same sp as joining and in each st Around. Join as before.

BOTTOM TRIM

Repeat the bottom trim of small basket.

HANDLE

Repeat handle of small basket. Glue handle to the inside of basket.

MATERIALS

Small amount of orange or white 4-ply yarn

Small amount black felt

Tacky glue or glue gun

Yarn Needle

G hook

Note: Do not join rnds unless otherwise stated.

Rnd 1: Ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 4 chs, 3 sc in last ch, now working on opposite side of starting chain, sc in next 4 chs, 2 sc in last ch (14 sc).

Rnd 2: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts (20 sc).

Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.

Rnds 4-11: Sc in each st around.

Rnd 12: Sl st in next st, ch 20, sk next 7 sts, sl st in next 3 sts, ch 20, sk next 7 sts, sl st in last 2 sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.

FINISHING

Looking at photo cut out face feature's and glue to one side of bag. That's it. Quick and easy item to make for your kids classroom. Just add a couple of pieces of candy.
