My Crochet Magnet Patterns

Here are a few on my magnet patterns that I have decided to add for free. All others will be for sale. If you find any mistakes please let me know.

FISH

MATERIALS

Small amounts of 4-ply yarn, any color

1-5mm wiggle eye

Tacky glue

Yarn needle

1” magnet

G hook

FINISHED SIZE: 5”

Ch 9,

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st ch across, ch 1, turn (8).

Row 2: Dec 1st 2 sts together, sc across to last 2 sts, dec last 2 sts together, ch 1, turn (6)

Row 3-4: Repeat row 2. (4, 2)

Row 5: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn

Rows 6-7: Repeat row 5

Row 8: 2 sc in 1st st, sc across to last st, 2 sc in last st , ch 1, turn (4)

Row 9: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn

Rows 10-13: repeat rows 8 and 9 alternately (6, 8)

Rows 14-17: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn

Rows 18-21: Repeat row 2. (6, 4, 2, 1) At end of row 21 do not ch 1, do not fasten off.

EDGING

Sl st in ends of rows all the way around the fish. Join with a al st in 1st st. Fasten off.

FINS (Make 2)

Ch 5,

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 3 chs, ch 1, turn (4)

Row 2: Dec next 2 sts together, twice, ch 1, turn (2)

Row 3: Dec 1st two sts together (1). Fasten off.

FINISHING

Sew 1 fin to top of fish and the other at the bottom on opposite side. Glue eye in place. Glue magnet on back. Let dry completely before placing magnet on the refrigerator.

STRAWBERRY

MATERIALS

Small amounts of red, green and black 4-ply yarn

Magnet

Tacky glue

H hook

Yarn needle

FINISHED SIZE: 3”

NOTE:

Do not join unless other wise stated.

STRAWBERRY

Row 1: With red yarn, ch 4, join to form ring, sc, hdc, 4 dc in ring, 4 dc around last dc made, 3 dc, hdc, sl st in ring.

Row 2: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts, 3 sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st. Join with sl st in next st. Fasten off.

LEAF

*Ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * 1 more time, sl st in last ch of 1st leaf made, FOR STEM, ch 4, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in next 2 sts, sl st at the base of ch 4. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Sew leaf on top of strawberry. With black yarn, embroider small black spots on strawberry. Glue magnet on back. Let dry.

PENQUIN

MATERIALS

Small amount of black, white and gold 4-ply yarn

2-7mm wiggle eyes

Tacky glue

1” piece of magnetic strip

G hook

FINISHED SIZE:

4 ˝” tall

BODY

With white ch 6,

Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 3 chs, 3 sc in last ch, working on opposite side of starting chain, sc in next 3 chs, 2 sc last ch. Join with sl st in 1st sc, fasten off white, join black. (12)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in joining sp, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in last st, join as before.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, sc in next 5 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) 3 times, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in last st, join as before. Fasten off.

HEAD

With white ch 2,

Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st in 1st st, fasten off white, join black.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same sp and in each st around, join with sl st in 1st st. (12)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc in next st, (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) around, join as before, fasten off leaving a length for sewing. (18). Sew the head to the top of body.

WINGS (Make 2)

With black ch 7, tr in 4th ch from hook, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch. Fasten off leaving a small length for sewing. Sew wings to body and shown in photo.

BEAK

For beak, ch 2, sc, ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook, fasten off leaving a small length for sewing. Sew beak to face as shown in photo.

FEET

For feet, join gold at bottom as shown in photo, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in same st as joining, sl st in next 2 sts, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in same st as last sl st, fasten off.

FINISHING

Glue eyes to face. Glue magnet on back and let dry.

PANDA BEAR

MATERIALS

Small amounts of black and white 4-ply yarn

2-7mm wiggle eyes

1 tiny black pompom

Small piece of black felt big enough to cut 2 small circles

About a 6” piece of ribbon, any color

Magnet

Tacky glue

G hook

BODY

Ch 2,

Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st in 1st st, ch 1

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around, join as before, ch 1. (12)

Rnd 3: Sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next st, around, join as before, fasten off white.

Rnd 4: Join black with sl st in 1st st, ch 1, sc in same sp and in next st, 2 sc in next st, around, join as before, fasten off. (24)

HEAD

Rnds 1-2: With white repeat rnds 1 & 2 of body, fasten off white.

Rnd 3: Join black with sl st in 1st st, ch 1, sc in same sp, 2 sc in next st, (sc in next sp,2 sc in next sp) around, join as before, fasten off leaving a small length for sewing. (18) Sew head to body using about 3 sts.

EARS, ARMS, LEGS

Join with sl st in 1st st of head, sl st in next 4 sts, sl st, ch 3, 4 dc, sl st in next st, sl st in next 4 sts, sl st in st between head and body, sl st in next 2 sts of body, sl st ch 3, 4 dc, sl st in next st, sl st in next 5 sts, sl st, ch 3, 4 dc, sl st in next st, sl st in next 6 sts, sl st, ch 3, 4 dc, sl st in next st, sl st in next 5 sts, sl st, ch3, 4 dc, sl st in next st, sl st in next 2 sts of body, sl st in st between head and body, fasten off. Weave in all ends.

FINISHING

Cut black circles from felt, glue felt circles where eye’s will be going. Glue wiggle eyes over the black circles. Glue tiny black pompom to center of head for the nose. Make a bow with the ribbon and glue it between head and body. Let dry. Glue magnet to back

LADY BUG

MATERIALS

Small amount of red and black 4-ply yarn

2-5mm wiggle eye’s

Magnet

Tacky glue

G hook

BODY

Ch 4, 15 dc in 4th ch from hook, join with sl st in top of ch 3. (16)

LEGS AND HEAD

Join black in 1st st with a sl st, ch 1, sc hdc, dc in same sp, dc, hdc, sc, sl st in next st, sl st in next 2 sts, (2 hdc, sl st in next st) 3 times, sl st in next 3 sts, (2 hdc, sl st in next st) 3 times, sl st in last 2 sts, join with sl st in 1st st. Fasten off. Hide ends.

FINISHING

With long piece of black yarn stitch a line down the center of body. Put 3 small stitches on each side of body as shown in photo. Glue eye’s on head and magnet on back. Let dry.
